This is the third generation of a family of motor enthusiasts dedicated to collection and restoration. The first generation, the grandparents (1925 ? 1970), opened up a mechanics, bodywork, and upholstery workshop for cars. The second generation, the father and uncle (1950 ? 2006), learned the trade in the workshop and did their moulding technique studies in Barcelona. The father designed his first car when he was 16, a project which failed due to the historical moment, the post-war period, but which served to help him realize his abilities and interests.
He did his military service in the Figueres castle as the general?s chauffeur, which allowed him to combine his business interests with those of his brother. As a motorcycle rider, he created, along with his brother, a company that manufactured motorcycle components for other brands. This project did not prove to be very profitable for them.
Soon enough, both brothers discovered that in order to succeed in business, they had to create their own item, and so they designed and manufactured the HECO toolbox, a key part of their business success thanks to its revolutionary opening system, that was subsequently adopted by the majority of European manufacturers.
At that time, the father had already transferred part of his interest to ground rallies, creating a team with two Simca 1500 cars (he personally drove one of them), and collecting top of the line cars, a hobby that both brothers shared. He never stopped participating in rallies and motorcycle trips, his true passion. When he acquired the first BMW RS 1600 that entered Spain, he named it ?my great love?.
The first historical vehicles in their collection were personally reconstructed by him: Amilcar, Bouchet, Citroën 5 CV, WILLIS MB, and some motorcycles: BMW, Zundapp, etc.
A member of the board of directors of the Gerona Motor Club, he was an authentic purist. His cars always functioned with original parts, or those reconstructed with complete accuracy, and were painted and upholstered as they had originally been manufactured.
A real enthusiast of the BMW brand, he was a partner of the brand?s dealership in Gerona for 25 years. In his retirement, he dedicated himself body and soul to creating a motor racing team, following the dream of his own car, the ?Garbí?, similar to the Lotus7 and Caterham, that he marketed and which were assigned to circuit competitions, that the motor racing team itself organized.
There cannot be a more significant way of showing his passion for cars than his death in 2006, in a fatal car accident in the Montmeló circuit (Catalonia), driving his own Garbí. His daughter forms part of the third generation that has shared his interest, and today offers you the services of COCO22. With ample experience as a businesswoman, her passion for the automobile has led her to maintain the family collection and channel her knowledge into creating this compa
